Quick isn’t so quick

Last night’s game between the Los Angeles Kings and the New York Rangers had Ryan McDonagh scoring a goal that Jonathan Quick won’t be forgetting anytime soon. The Kings were on the power play in the 3rd period down by one in their home opener. The Rangers won the draw and McDonagh cleared the zone. Quick, at the other end of the ice, goes to play the puck, but loses his stick. As he goes to reach for the stick, the puck bounces off his pad and slides into the net. Quick was very hard on himself in the post game interview; its going to be a huge mental battle for him after this one, but Quick is a professional, all-star goaltender. The King’s next game is Wednesday vs the Ottawa Senators and I expect a big game out of Quick.
