Roman Hamrlik retires after 20 NHL seasons

After Martin Biron called it quits yesterday, veteran defenseman Roman Hamrlik retires after 20 NHL seasons. The 1st overall pick in 1992 played 1,395 games amassing 638 points and three all-star game appearances (1996, 1999, 2003). He played for the Tampa Bay Lightning, Edmonton Oilers, New York Islanders, Calgary Flames, Montreal Canadians, Washington Capitals and New York Rangers. The closes Hamrlik came to winning a Stanley Cup was an Eastern Conference Finals appearance with the Montreal Canadians in 2010.
